Profile

Valentina Mendonca-Helms is a bachelor’s student in biology at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. As part of her bachelor’s project, she is performing promoter swaps in Saccharomyces cerevisiae cell cycle genes using CRISPR-Cas9. The aim of this project is to investigate how different promoters influence gene expression, which she does analyze using single-molecule fluorescence in situ hybridization (smFISH).
