Facundo Rueda is from Argentina and finished his dentistry degree at UNC in 2017. While studying, he got interested in research. In 2018, he worked with a PhD student in the Biological Chemistry group at UNC, studying periodontal disease with a rat model. To continue his research, Facundo moved to Copenhagen, Denmark, where he got an MSc in Human Biology from the University of Copenhagen. In 2023, he completed his master's thesis on how genetic mutations affect pancreatic cancer using a mouse model. This project included skills like animal handling, high-resolution microscopy, and image analysis. Currently, Facundo is part of the Edda Klipp group, where he investigates gene expression in the yeast cell cycle through fluorescence microscopy, incorporating computational methods into his research.
